Yeah, but I'll still have that day to hang on to for the rest of my life. And think how impress people will be when I tell the story and they see his truck sitting there with 40" tires. :haha:

Damn Nick I feel like my game's in slow motion. Watching you purchase stuff such as 40" MTR's and getting some dude to drive a DANA 60 cross country for a couple bucks al the way to Colorado!! When's the madness stop?? I'm going to have to rename my blazer to Powerwheels, but not the barbie version. Its going to be one of those nice looking powerwheels.

Things are sweet and dandy. I'm trying to wrap up my scholarly events so I can get this show on the road and head up north. I have a guy making some nice tow bars so I can flat-tow my blazer up to your neighborhood and have a nice run with my 3 on the tree. What are your plans besides the the possible May 6th run? Is your truck fixed? I'm trying to make Nick fit some time in his schedule for a nice quiet run at the end of this month. I'm ready to rock and roll. That is with 31's and a stock beauty

James- I'm not ignoring you. Don't go and start to cry. As Nick said, I had me a bit of a crunch today, but I don't think my teacher's too mad. I wipped out my excuse book and made my math deal turn from sour to sweet.:D

The truck is close but it's costing me. I think with what I've spent on a new carb to TBI motor, install, and TBI upgrade I could have had 6" lift, 37" tires, sliders, armor, crossover, bumpers, and a few other things. Essentially I could have finished my build up plans. I'm pretty burnt out on the whole wheeling concept at the moment. The old, "I could give a **** about wheeling cause I'm ****ing broke" mental state.

Not to ask a stupid question. But what all did you have done to your truck? I thought your just had fuel injection installed? Did you have the motor built also or ?????

The 350 I had in the truck had an intermittent knock. I had it checked while it was in for the swap. That noise turned out to be 2 loose wrist pins. The #6 cylinder had a 1/4" groove cut into the wall on each side of the piston. The #3 was developing the same groove but it was still shallow. The consensus is that the pins were hammered in cold instead of being heated. The 77 block was junk. Since we were installing the TBI swap I just went ahead and bought a newer 4 bolt 1990 TBI motor. That made the TBI bolt right in but I also had to switch flywheels, oil pan, et, for the single piece rear main. Lot of unexpected expenses.

Between engine cost, TBI components, Painless harness, VSS sensor, labor, and misc I took a big hit. Enough to destroy my build budget and probably limit my 4x4 trips this summer.

Don't you just love how that happens.

That's why I've decided that one I'm through hammering this body, I'm going to look for an 89-91 donor truck already TBI equipped.
