The weekend road trip went fairly close to planned other than a late start on Saturday. I now have a truck load of tires in place of the axles I left with and a new (to me) 1986 Chevy S10...

Took about 2 hours of cleaning corrosion off the battery terminals yesterday and now it starts reliably. I never really thought mold and mildew would like to grow in battery cables before! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Free is a very good price but add in the gas to get it and parts to catch up on neglected maintenance just trying to make it a reliable vehicle again and I will soon have $300-500 in it... But that is still better than paying for the beater up front /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Trip went pretty close to planned. I didnt plan anything after arriving to pick up the S10 so it was hard to go off schedule for that part.

I did break the bumper mounting bracket going around a sharp corner. The towbar I was using mounted to the front bumper. Luckily the S10 came with permently welded towbar mounts already on the frame that I was able to use instead at that point.
