back spacing for 15" wide tires

    back spacing for 15\" wide tires

    looking at buying 42 15 16.5 swampers what backspacing do I need to clear front springs and wheel tub in rear

    8" but that shouldn't much matter. just courious because the 35's I have now with a 4 inch lift rub the tubs in the back while wheelin, I don't think the 8 inch will get the tubs above the tires.

    You're not going to hit the springs, but with an 8" lift, you might as well bust out the sawzall or get a 3" body because you're going to be there a while.

    <font color=blue>Your tub clearance problem is caused by the fact that the tires are bigger than the wheel wells, not a lack of height. You're going to need to get creative with the sawzall. Ask Stephen Watson what his backspacing is, hes running those tires.</font color=blue>
