I came to this site a couple weeks ago with the same problem. Check to see if your front driveshaft and u-joints turn in 4WD. If they don't it's not your hubs. Replacing the hubs can be done in under an hour. I paid 79 for Warn hubs.

Hey AZBlazeman, where are you a training mgr at? Used to be a technical trainer for a while.

I'm going shopping for hubs, Warn premiums, so where is the cheapest place in town?

Stupid question but how do you know they aren't turning in 4wd? Your front wheels are moving from the rig moving anyway (by way of the rear). Are they not spinning on mud or something. (Pardon the novice question, but I'm still learning)

9. Steve,

Got stuck in the sand, found out they were not spinning real quick! Took forever to get out!! I have seen hubs between $60 and $90.

Hey **b** get this;

I was just calling around to price out Warn hubs. Spoke to a guy at one of the 4x4 stores, and the first thing he tells me, after I tell him I have auto-hubs right now, is that I can't change to manual ones!

He finally realized that he was wrong.

Anyhow, so what I've found so far is the following:

Warn premium at Desert-Rat = $81.99
Warn premium at Off-Road unlimited = $89.99 (gee should I spend the extra $8?)
Milemarker at Autozone = $64.99 (don't know how they compare to the WARN's?)
Superwinch at Fly-N-Hi = $79.99

Now the last two got my attention. Not so much for the price, but both places told me they stopped carrying the WARN's due to the pain in the butt warrenty. They both said if the Superwinch or Milemarker go out they'll exchange for new ones in the store. Fly-N-Hi used to carry WARN but their customers were getting upset at WARN for not honoring some of the warrenties, and also having to wait to have FNHi to ship them back to WARN for the check-up by WARN and then WARN determines if they'll honor the warrenty.

So what do you guys think? WARN or Superwinch or Milemarker? Seems the Superwinch or even the Milemarker warrenty is easier to invoke if needed and get back up and running while in the parking lot! (Plus what the heck they are cheaper!) (Plus any comments on the Milemarker quality?)

Absolutly no problems with my superwinch hubs on dana 44. Bought for $55.00 at Universal Joint Sales. I think they are a regional chain. Several in N.Y. state. I don't know about other areas.

A while back, I made mention of NOT BUYING PARTS (a radiator in this case) at the Punk Boys or Autobone because those poor guys behind the counter just wanted a job. Corporate American doesn't want to train anyone to do a job today so they just throw'em at us.

Thank God for this board-we can survive this together. Until then, I'll repost my suggestion: Find a local owned auto parts store that's been around for a long time (ask trusted garages) and deal with THEIR COUNTER GUYS. They just might know more about your truck/vehicle than you do because they're getting calls from mechanics/service managers everyday! Just my .02 worth.

That's funny . I must have been reading your mind cause I was just over there. Actually not a bad deal on the WARN premiums. After 33% discount they're only $68 (incl shipping). I think I'll do it.
