<font color="blue">I hit a pole with my 71 today /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. We got about 7" of snow today so my work called me and told me to stay home. I figured it would be a good time to get it into my dad's shop since he wasnt busy and finish the Thunderbid dual electric fan conversion. Well, the top of my road is a sharp right turn, then a little after that it bears right slightly again. I made the sharp right and the back end got a little squirly (as always when its snowy) so I let off the gas and correct the same way I've done it dozens of times before and it straigtened out in time for the bear to the right. Well, I turned into the bear to the right and the front wheels slid on some packed snow (plows just went by) and it went straight.... into the only pole in sight /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. I wasnt going that fast so I am OK, but the tire hit the gaurdrail and bounced off and it hit the pole framerail first. I've come close to hitting this pole a couple times the past few years, I guess I just wasnt as lucky today as in the past. It bent a little right behind the steering box so I had it towed to my dads shop. He looked at it and called his freind who owns a body shop, he said he can straighten it out with his frame jig so I'm going to try to fix it. Anyway, heres pics (and yes I do carry my digi cam everywhere with me). Oh well time to start searching for some front sheetmetal parts /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You can kinda see the bend here. This is the only frame damage and the guy at the body shop said he can fix it.

<font color="blue">Thanks guys. the r/f fender is OK and I can straighten the core suport, all I need is a hood, l/f fender and a grille/grille suround. That place has a lot of nice parts, but shipping to NJ would kill the deal

Damn Chris...all I can say is "DOH!!!"

I recall almost hitting a pole with my 89 S-10 Blazer I had a long time ago. It would have been broadside though...

Good luck chasing down parts and getting it fixed!!!

man, thats a damn nice one too. I just bought a '72 Blazer up in Minnesota for $1,800. It was owned by a guy who bought it new and drove it for 8 years and had a seizure. They took his drivers license. and its been parked ever since... ALL factory original, minimal rust (rocker panels) all else is great. I hope you can get that thing fixed, looks like you put some time into it. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

<font color="blue">I found all the parts I need out on Long Island for cheap, and it's going to the frame jig Monday morning. It would have gone today, but they were closed when I got home from work
