Well I go to get in Wimpy to drive home and she's hydrolocked. Hmmmmm. A few bumps of the starter and she releases so all is well. Right? Wrong. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

She starts blowin what looks like smoke which is nuthin new at start up but the smell comin from the drivers side bank smells suspiciously like antifreeze!! /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

So instead of potentially "relaxing" on Sunday looks like I need to tear into the motor to find the leak. In case you're wonderin, I'm already praying for it to be just a gasket and not the head.

Having stated this does anyone have a set of known good heads that I can make payments on or what have you as a worse case scenario for the big tear down and fix on Sunday?

Preferably something in the high performance arena so I can brag and stuff about Wimpy's new extra special parts. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif J/K /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Would be nice though doncha think? /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Oh by the way, if you come on Saturday to help with the move and you didn't get all hacked and take off and you can stand to be around me on Sunday and/or if you have the time I could prolly use the help as I've never torn into a V-8 before and hence am not entirely positive as to what I'm gonna find in there.

It is an easy job , just a little time consuming . I betcha are gonna find a blown head gasket AND/OR the heads are shot , which is about right for some beat 70's thinwall castings . You can do it , and if you work with Mike he's real cool to deal with /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
