Dudes, primo area with 1800 acres and over 150 miles of trails...part of the TMTC coalition....spent 3 days there and never went down the same trail twice...very professionally run, excellent trails with all (most trails marked and rated)

Where's Gilmer? I live in Houston.
Is it public land, or a park, or what?

Its owned by the Texas Motorized Trail Coalition, they have a web page, I don't have the address handy....its open to all members and guests, you can go a run for a $15 per day per vehicle cost, or join and then its only $10 per day, $35 membership per year, and they're talking about opening two new sites next year, one in West Texas and the other near Houston I believe.
When I said it was a primo place I meant it, so far its hands down the best off-roading park I've been to in Texas, the trails are plentiful and well-marked, toilet facitites there, and at large rallies there is even a ememrgency Medical team there...awesome place...I will get the address and phone numbers and post them this weekend.

I would like to but it will be a while before my jimmy is trail-ready. (no winch, need new tires, fresh motor, etc.) But plans are in the making. Maybe before school starts next fall.
