Baseball Iron Man Cal Ripken Jr. of the Baltimore Orioles and eight-times batting champion Tony Gwynn of the San Diego Padres were elected into baseball's Hall of Fame Tuesday, but slugger Mark McGwire was snubbed by voters.

    Story.

I still think that they should let Pete Rose in. I mean if they are going to let steroided up players hold HR/hitting records, so what if a guy bet on a game or two.

McGwire and Rose ought to be in there..furthermore,

I think the HOF ought to have a big statue of an asterisk in a courtyard by the entrance.. an engraved plaque should say the following:

"Warning - The HOF is not responsible for your innocence being shattered because your heroes cheated, gambled or used steroids. If these guys were the best you could do for heroes, you deserve what you get. Worship at your own risk."

I mean seriously, who the hell cares about steroids.. the fans got a show,, the players got fame and money.. who cares if they kill themselves, as long as I'm entertained, right? everybody wins.

i think they should keep the 'roid boys out. If they find out later than an inductee did them, kick them right back out of the hall. Maris is the greatest single season home run hitter in the history of the game. All these juiced up clowns with raisin-sized nads can go to hell AFAIC.

Growing up,and watching Gwynn put on a hitting clinic was awesome.

McGwire will eventually get in,but I don't see it in the near future.

I'm all for Pete Rose getting in, but the likes of McGwire, Bonds, and Sosa ought to be left at the door. I would say the ame for Jason Giambi, but even after all he's been thorugh, he is still a consumate hitter.
