Just got my 87 Jimmy(tbi305/700r4/np208) out of the transmission shop getting the rear main seal replaced and the transfer case rebuilt. The Mechanic told me that I need a bastard joint for the rear driveshaft because the U-joint doesn't fit (previous owner put a 12bolt rearend under it with the factory 10 bolt up front)anyone ever heard of a bastard joint? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

He's talking about an adapter u-joint. Bastard makes sense, its a "hybrid" if you will, has two large caps, and two small caps. You can get them at Napa, I believe a search for "adapter u joint" or something like that on here will yield some results for part number.
