This isn't truck related, so I will post it in here for someone to see....

I have a battery charger; it has 2 options 15amp and 2 amp for charging. Along with deep cycle and maintenance free or low maintenance battery option.
My mom has a toyota corrola with the 22r motor, and the battery is dead (hasn't been running for a couple months) so I need to charge it.
What will give the best charge, the 15 amp, or the 2 amp?

I have it on the 15 amp right now

15 amps will shock charge the sucker. Sometimes you need to do this to blast the plates clean if it won't accept a trickle charge. The 2 amp setting is a trickle charge. Someone once told me that using the trickle setting charges the battery more completely, but I dunno?

It makes sense that the 2 amp would charge it better.
I charged it for a couple hours on 15 amp and it didn't start. Starter made a clicking, and dash and interior light came on.
I have it on 2 amp, and I will try it after breakfast tomrrow.
    Thanks Paul.

Does your charger hae an automatic setting on it? This means that as the battery charges up, the charger will lessen the maps going to it. I use 15 amp auto on my charger, the 2 amp is more like a maintenance charge for vehicles that don't get driven that much. What is the amp hour rating on the battery-divide that by 2(amps) and that is how long it will have to charge, if it is completely dead.

    Alright thanks Mike.
Yeah it has 2 automatic settings and 1 manual. The 2 automatic settings are the 15 amp or 2 amp.
    Thanks.
