Battery Question

    What do you guys think about running 2 optima yellow 900cca batteries?

    That would work fine. Optima batteries are excellent wet cell replacements.

    Aren't the yellow tops the deep cycles? If so, the red tops would be a better application for the demands of starting the diesel engine.

    As long as the CCA rating is high enough a Deep Cycle is even better. At 900 CCA they should be more than enough.

    I thought deep cycles don't like constant charging. I'd always heard not to use them in automobiles.

    It's not that they don't like constant charging, they can't usually give to much current at once, but now OPTIMA is changing that with their deep cycle high cranking battery.
    I'd say if it really is the 900CCA, 900CA then yes go with them.

    Thanks for the guidance guys. I was thinking about using them because they can retain the charge longer and have better amperage than the red tops.
