I was wondering about this too. I'm about to buy a 84 K5 with a serious rust problem. Can you buy bed liner with a gloss finish? Kinda like a really thick coat of paint? I like the grainy look, but I really want a smooth K5 that will turn some heads when I wheel. Don't want to have to worry about messing up an expensive paint job either.
