ok, i read just now the other threads on BB03 and this was never answered, and IMO is very important, especially since not all members could go last year, and makes us wanna go even more this year. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    Rob,

The campsite last year was OK, just OK, nothing great, lot of dirt but no grass. I am not looking forward to camping on dirt again this year. Actually, if we are camping in the same place, I won't be there. They were rather expensive and they would not let us camp in the grassy areas.

I am up for either a better campsite or a diffrent site all together.

Overall the campsite was large enough for everyone...

    Just my .02...

Like you said many didn't get to go last year, I am one of them, and I will not complain.
Any where I am allowed to set up camp I will.
Worst case if it's not comfy I have my blow up matress.

It's the freakin' desert. It's hard enough to even get any grass to grow. If they let people camp on it, then it would just be a huge dirt field in a week or two. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Come on Rob, you live in Phoenix. Grass is something that only golf courses and rich people have. Dirt should be in your blood. We live in a sandbox. It can't be that bad camping on dirt. You do it all the time in AZ. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I know I do.

Re: BB\'03... enough camping for everyone?

    Harry,

Hey I'm ok with camping on dirt, hell like Doug said, we camp on the dirt all winter long in AZ. Really not a problem, but keep in mind last year when Marv and I attened the Bash we were out for 10 days, that's right, 5 days in Moab then a 4 days trip to Farmington, NM right after Moab. That's count' them, 9 days of potential dirt camping. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif, and I had my wheeling buddie with me Joey my 8 year old son.

After about 4 days in the dirt, things are quite a challenge.

But hey I'm a big boy, my point is there was some other sites and or maybe a hotel this year that I'm looking at for Joey and I. We are goign to be doing the same thing as last year 4 or 5 days in Moab and 4 or 5 days in either Farmington, NM and or Las Cruses,NM. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

But don't worry, I will still be there this year. Would not miss it for anything.....

Did someone say wheeling on Big Rocks, they must have been calling my name... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Re: BB\'03... enough camping for everyone?

Hey, I was "old" last year and stayed in a Hotel. Sure was nice after a long, hot, dusty day on the trail to go back to a nice hot shower, comfy bed, and cold AC. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I'm too old to sleep on the ground. Plus, being loaded up with steel pins and an artificial knee makes it more of a "challenge" than I'm interested in pursuing... /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I maybe with ya this year, I mean I showered every nite but , well I guess there really wasn't a down side to camping out there. Although I wouldn't mind having a mattress to sleap on. I might sleep BB away though. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
