Picked up a pr. of BBC heads casting #353049 oval port. Guy told me they are a rare find. Did this guy blow smoke up my ass or what? After I bought these, I took them to my brothers house (he's the one who told me to go look at these heads) we start searching thru his pile of heads and we find another pr. of 049 heads, also a pr of 241 heads. Was I taken for a ride. Paid 175.00 for them. Any thoughts on these heads. Thanks in advance.

those are heads that came on big blocks between 1970 and 1973 I have a pair of those right now, they came on 402's and 454's

if they are in great condition, or fair condition, that is a ball park price, but anything big block can be spendy, some people like to think that parts are gold because they are big block parts.

the set I have I paid 150 bucks for, and they looked fresh, I feel I got a deal on mine.

the 241 heads should be the ls5 off an 1972 LS5 block, a 365 hp 454, OR A 402 But I dont have any hp figures for the 402

I got a set of 049's on mine, for 160ish, they had been cut for 2.19/1.88's already and had had minor port work done to them. I think I came out pretty good.
