Is anyone running this set up? Just dreaming of future mods at the present. Currently have a 350 TBI 700R4 208 combo. Would like to go with a big block once this engine wears out. I know most guys go with the T400, but kind of like having an overdrive. Does anyone know if a T400 or 4L80E would be a direct bolt in? I'm guessing not. Would eventually like to upgrade to a 205 transfer case too. I know we don't drive these things cause they're great on gas, but was wondering what kind of mileage you guys are getting with a 454 T400 combo? Thanks for the help - Jay

A 454 should bolt up to the 700r4 with no problem. I would not see a problem with a 700r4 holding up to a bigblock if it is built correctly. Alot of companys make 700's that they claim will hold up. I plan on keeping my 700 and putting a 205 behind it someday. I also plan on keeping my 350 and giving it a healthy shot in the arm too. Just my $.02.

I would talk to some tranny shops. See if they can build it to hold up to your 454 or go with the 4L80e from Jet. they can sell you one that will work without a computer.
