Just wanted to let you guys know.

Well I found out last night that the "Rim Protector" added to the new KO design BFG AT is also a Beauty Ring Ejector.

Tires must flex enough to push beauty rings loose, couple that with some bumps down a dirt road and you have one less beauty ring.

Took the remaining three off, so I don't loose them also. The remaining three were loose after just a couple miles looking for thier lost compadre.

Were they the same rings you have had on the K5 for a while or are they new?

If they are new, maybe you got the wrong order and they sent you Mexican jumping rings? [IMG]

Same Rings that were on it when I bought it.

Like the look but don't want to keep loosing them, so off they came.

funny to hear that. I have used the b-rings with the KOs for over 2yrs and no losses. I drive down to baja often through some of the most screwed up so called roads i've ever seen. Haven't lost one yet.

    ARQ.

what size tire are you using??

I thought the KO design just came out, I've got some and was going to get some b- rings too. I was thinking of maybe a drop or two of some good silicone or something to sort of glue them on, anyone else think of anything .I hate my rally's without the rings?

i bought some new beauty rings from GM they are the deep dish ones for corvetes. they are almost impossible to get on and off. they only have 5 clips that hold them on the rim, but they are very strong! they were like $50 each so a little spendy!

I have beauty rings on mine too. I really like the way they look. But I usually pull them off if I do any serious 4 wheeling and before hunting season. They just get to tore up in the rocks and mud. it only takes a minute to pop then off and on.

Until I put on the KO's I had no problems with them. I checked them after Discount tire put them on, they were loose, and thought that they just did not get them on tight. Then again they were loose when I did my shocks last weekend.
Now I have lost one. It really blows, because I like the stock rallies with rings look.

Yeah me too, could you maybe trim the ring on the outside edge so it doesn't hit the rim protector, just a quick thought...

What PSI are you running your tires at? I'm surprised that you lost one...I've been running mine for months now with no problems. They are deep dish (3" I believe) and they are tough to get off. The KO's come nowhere near touching them fully loaded, at 35 or 45PSI. Not sure what mine are off of, but they are exactly the same style/dish as some that I bought off another board member.

Now off roading, maybe it will be a little different, although last night my front wheel dropped off the pavement and into a hole, and I put a lot of strain on the inside of the tire, which would have pushed the tire out towards the beauty ring, but its still on there tight.

I really have to pound mine on to seat them(rubber mallet, not just hand) and boy is that screeching sound nasty. Not sure if my factory wheels are 15x7 or x8, that would make a diff as well I bet.

They are fully seated but mine only require the heal of my hand to seat them. They are the deap ones on 8" rims, I am running the standard pressure in my tires.

I guess when the wife is not looking I will have to purchase a new set. Maybe the ones that I have are not holding tight.
