Well I have everything I need to finish my truck now! (to daily driver standards) I was supposed to get it in paint shop a couple of weeks ago but have decided to wait. Going to finish some mechanical stuff first, don't want to have to be wrenching on it with the new paint, unless totally necessary. They are going to spot weld all the holes where I have removed all the trim. New items waiting to go in include: stainless extended brake lines, calipers, rotors, drums, seals, bearings, Warn Hubs, 4" lift, 35" A/T's on Mickey Thompson Alcoa Classics, New Grey Carpet, Grey Upholstery, Grey Dash, all new trim, new lights, bezels, Billet Grill, Edelbrock Performer IAS Shocks, all new gaskets. 98 Suburban Console. Things I have done so far include, newer power tailgate, rebuilt transmission, stripped, newer doors, new flowmaster exhaust, new steering wheel, new wires, plugs, K&N filter, rebuilt carb, new harmonic balancer, motor mounts, water pump, etc. List goes on and on. These pics are after doors were changed, and truck was being stripped for paint shop. Got too ansie and forgot to take "real" before pics. Before I tore into truck at all!! Oh, well! I forget how to post the link so here is the web address:

Kinda decided the camo might be a little white trash as a grocery getter.

Ya Know if we all painted them Camo, OD or desert tan it might scare off any more nut cases thinking there is a whole bunch of Military around.
My 75 has been Desert tan for a 3 years. I like it. Nice and light so the sun doesn't get it baking.
Now the Lady's 79 we are thinking of going for the whole Darth Vader/Hazard Damage (Douglas Adams Hitchikers Guide Thing) with. Black with black interior with black gages with black printing with black back lighting. [IMG]

White trash? [IMG] Naw it's not white trash... I have all my windows, my lights all work, no bales of hay in the back, no hefty bags used to keep rain out, no hound dogs (or farm animals) in it. I also keep it clean and neat inside for the most part. C'mon you live near enough to Rio Linda to know what true white trash is.... I don't qualify there quite yet! [IMG][IMG]

UGLY?!! I think it looks great! Now you have an interior that matches mine![IMG] I've been driving mine every day since I stripped it, even drove it without the front clip a couple of times, and got a lot of funny stares, but its getting there. If others can't get used to the look of your in-progress rig, tell 'em to take a hike! Good luck on your progress and be sure to let us all know how it turns out--POST 'AFTER' PICS!!!

I love Grimmys idea! I might just do that to mine till I paint it! It wont hurt it to 1 coat it w/ rattle cans till I get to the paint and body. Besides it'll wash off w/ lac. thinner!

Desert camo is a definate idea!

I prefer the black white and grey but desert camo seems to fit rite now.

I get all the exercise I need pushing my luck! [IMG]

ChevyCaGal: I wasn't calling you white trash... I was just saying, my truck is turning into my daily driver/grocery getter/etc. I think I'd be happier with a nice paint job for now. I at least want to see the truck all nice and new once. Then after we decide what to buy as a "daily driver" this will turn into a "camping/wheeling/having fun" vehicle. But for now, as soon as it is done (hopefully by end of next month) It is going to be replacing the Honda!! I can't wait for that. I hate driving the honda. Will be nice to have a big automatic that no one will get in my way again. I loved that feeling when I had my 89 Blazer. This one is going to be bigger. Better minus the carburator! hehe.

    Hey Sara,

That K5 is in great shape. I wish mine looked like that under the carpet! I had to patch a bunch of rust holes in mine. In fact, I wanted to install a cage, but will probably wait to find another tub someday. Good luck and keep us posted.

HAHA! Well it would be temporary! Im not sure if I will or not, thats kind of a big mess to clean up to paint it. And no I never used spray bombs on a customer ride! LOL! Id like to and just might but Im not positive I will! If I do I will post pics.

Well, Im off to battle the tranny again. It will be on the road this week!

I get all the exercise I need pushing my luck! [IMG]
