So my 11 year old daughter comes home with this ominous sounding slip of paper...

Under "reason" it just says snowball. We have maybe 2" of wet snow on the ground, which is something we don't get a lot of. I assumed she nailed some other kid in the head with a snowball and got busted for it. So, I asked her what happened and to whom did it happen to.

The story (backed up by witnesses) is that she made a snowball and was holding it. WTF???? Making a snowball is some heinous middle school crime now? :doah:

Apparently i must sign this slip and send it back to school with her tomorrow. I'm tempted to write a little something on it...

I would ask them what's the problem with a snowball? I would also write on the slip that , in your opinion, she did nothing wrong and you will not discipline her because of this. If they don't like it, tell them to set up a face to face with you.

Easy. Reply with a simple: "Really?"

That's what I would do. If the teacher contacted me regarding my reply, I would ask her to demonstrate she's capable of doing her job by using full sentences when contacting me about my daughter's behavior.

I don't like teachers to begin with, and that kind of crap makes me realize why......

Kim just suggested you use "And?" instead of "Really?". I like hers better....:thumb:

    Mrs. Johnson,

Although it may concern you, young (insert child's name) is training to be a sculptor specializing in figures of the modern genre. Her "snowball" was a simple attempt at perfecting her technique for the shaping of spheres on an easily formable medium. I fear your heinous attempts to discipline her for such fine work have scarred her and set her back weeks and possibly months in her very intense training regiment. I would sincerely appreciate a full page single spaced written apology to both myself and my daughter. Also, my personal labor fee is $50 an hour. As such, I will be sending you a bill for my minimum charge amount of $10. Thank you and have a nice day.

    Sincerely,

    Rene

Thank her for making you aware of the situation and ensure her that next time you will make certain that your daughter will wear gloves. I'm sure they were just concerned that her hands would get too cold holding that snowball.

Does that mean they can't make snowmen either? Essentially a snowman is 2 or 3 large snow balls stacked on each other. But snowmen are probably outlawed at schools now too.

I forgot. A snow man isn't politically correct; therefore would be illegal.

I now change my original statement to imply "snowpeople" instead.
