usually an aluminium unit and i think if your running a scatter shield you need it this way too.

Or I have no idea and I'm just talking out my ass.

Scatter Shield? Do you mean the half moon shield that goes on the bottom? Ya I have the cast one that the starter mounts too bolted to my 465 with the shild, actually two shields.
The 454 I got had a starter bolted to it's block. So got me thinkin... /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif I wonder wich is stronger?
I have heard the Cast Iron is stronger than the Cast Aluminum bell.
It shouldn't matter that I am installing a block that use to have the block mounted starter but will now use the bell mounted starter..right???? /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
