The ones I took out. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I suppose 12b/D44. If I could consider a 6-lug 14b half ton, that would be my choice for a favorite.

In a Chevy truck, 12 bolt rear, 10bolt or D44 front. Front doesn't matter that much as they are about the same strength wise.

12 bolts are 1/2 ton axles? hmmm... i guess so... never thought of em that way I guess. I mean a 10b is 1/2t and a 12bolt is bigger so... seems like the poor thing is being slighted by being called a 1/2t. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif gah, swap in a ff14b and forget about it.

6 lug dana 60 FF rear (although I guess that would be a semi-custom thing and tecnically a 3/4 ton rear /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) you can have 6 lug axles made for a 9'' to match your front... 10 bolt is definately to be steered clear of when and where ever possible /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif. You don't have many choices for fronts, 10 bolts and dana 44's are pretty much the same strength wise /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

The best "half ton" diff's are a 14 bolt FF (approximate weight = 1/4 ton) and the D60 front (approximate weight = 1/4 ton)

So together you have the strongest half ton of diff's...

Or did you mean the best diff's found under 1/2 ton trucks? Chev? Ford? Jeep? Toyota?

    Did you mean stock?

We're all having a bit of fun here...mostly because the question is so vague. /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

As Grimmy says..."Try being more vague, I'm practicing my mind reading skills." /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So since ya had absolutely nothing positive to add to this conversation and couldn't answer the man's question, you really couldn't control the urge to refrain from replying? Self discipline is not really a bad idea. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I would definitely say that the very rare 12 bolt front axle would be my favorite half ton front! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

<font color="green"> What I find funny is that you didn't add anything useful to the thread, didn't answer the question, didn't say anything positive, and yet you couldn't refrain from replying. Now THAT is the pot calling the kettle black!

BTW, he did control the urge to refrain from replying, since he did reply. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

[/ QUOTE ] Tell that to Marv! Also why did you pay money to put a half ton axle in the front of your K5 if they are such P.O.S.? Don't tell me it's 3/4 ton, cause it's identical to the 1/2 ton with more lugs. 1/2 tons should be way more than enough to handle those 27'' roadhandlers /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

The way I look at it is there are half ton axles and one ton axles, some people just choose to pair them up and call it a 3/4 ton (1 plus 1/2 divided by 2 equals 3/4) but that still maintains the half ton front no matter how you look at it /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
