What sticks out as the best car movie in your mind? Best car chase in a movie?

Me, probably "Two Lane Blacktop" and "The Road Warrior". I need to broaden my knowledge base though. I've never seen the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" I love the second one from a car basis, even if it does some stupid crap. We had group presentations on anything we picked in class this week. The last group to go did, famous cars, from movies and TV. They showed a sweet car chase scene from Bullit(also never seen), and a lot of cars that made me want to sit back and watch Two Lane Blacktop.

Saddest thing about today, all the people not knowing anything about these cars. "Two Lane Blacktop, what is that? A fast and the furious prequel??" I'm surrounded I swear. Many in class were amazed there was even an original "Gone in 60 Seconds".

The original " Gone in 60 Seconds " is on DVD , look online and buy it . Cheesy 70's music and garb , but a killer car chase . The last half or more of the movie is the car chase :D

Definitely cheesy but I agree that its worth watching. And none of the stunts in this version are computerized.

The original version of "The Italian Job" is damn good, the Mini Cooper chase scene in Bourne Identity and the taxi chase scene in Bourne Supremacy arent too shabby either. None of them, and I mean none hold a candle to the M5 scene in Ronin.

I would say Bullit is my favorite, I generally hate Furds but that 'stang is sweet.

But Ronin is also a great one, and there's a real good one in "The French Connection" and although the car is lame you cannot leave out....

    The Blues Brothers.

The Blues brothers.. Up to that date it had the most cars wrecked in a movie.. I am not sure if that record has ever been broken..
