What is the best gear oil selection for the Auburn Limited Slip unit. I've heard that synthetics are NOT recommended for the Auburns ?? Comments ?

    Thanks, Eric

The best for Auburn's is what Auburn recommends and that would be "Genuine" <spell checker please> GM LSD additive.
Yes, its $7 for a little bitty bottle but it works. Trust me!!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

GL5 gear oil AND the GM posi additive. part # 1052358. I would only use this additive. The synthectic oils are too slippery and won't allow the clutches to catch.

Use GM part number 1052271 (oil) and 1052358 (friction modifier). Three of the oil and one of the additive. Put the additive in first then the oil. This stuff may seem exspensive but how often do you change it ? Once a year ? I have an Auburn in mine and use the above fluids and am happy with them.
