Guys,

kinda curious what everybody has felt their best mods were and there worst mods... I'll start out! [IMG]

best mod - toss up between VDO gauges & lift with axles and new tires & wheels. (should be easy to choose lift, but I didn't realize what a HUGH differnence my gauges made until I got me new K5 with the factory gauges. it's getting VDO gauges too)

worst mod - Flow Master 40 series (old style) [IMG] [IMG]

Best: 3/4 ton stuff with 4.10s, swampers and I havent put the detroit in yet but I think I'll like that too

Worst: Rancho springs. I am missing one rear shock and the other has a hole in it from hitting the shock mount and I cant tell the difference without the shocks because the springs are just that stiff.

My best mod: 1 ton axles D60/14ff.
Worst mod: Gears, Locker for the rear, limited slip for the front for the 1/2 ton axles....wasted my money with that one.

Best Mod: Absolutely, the Super Swamper SXs, followed closely by the rear disk swap on the 14 bolt FF and then, of course, the 14 bolt itself.
Worst Mod: The worthless, good for nothing BFG M/Ts. One little rock to the sidewall.....POOOF! I'm ashamed to have one even as a spare.

Worst - wasting the money 4 years ago on putting an Auburn posi in the 12 bolt/cracked egg looking lower rocker panel paint over rubberized bedliner (SOON to be redone with Herculiner)

Best.....Swapping a 91 rust free tub in place of a cancer ridden 79 rust bucket and new doors and fenders from GM before the retarded price hike 6 months ago.

Worst....a dual exhaust that exited straight out the back, deadly, has been rebent to exit just behind the rear wheels.

Best: Rancho suspension lift--soft springs ride great, Dynomax headers, Comp Xtreme 4x4 cam, (that's the absolute best mod) BFG Muds in the 35" variety, and 10 bolt/14 bolt semi floater.

Worst: Add-a-leaf/rear block combo, waste of $70. Should have got a real lift. Rear blocks should be a shackle flip. Should have gone with a 6" lift but then I'd need custom shafts. Now I'm going 8" with Tom Woods next year.

383 engine, NV4500, 14BFF, D60, custom dash with Autometer gauges & TSM disc brakes. Worst mod, Honda Accord bucket seats, not because they're bad, but because I should have spent the money to find a set of 95-99 GM truck bucket seats. A much better fit for the K5.

87 K5, D60 & 14FF, 5 sp & NP208 & 383 stroker. Build it Bulletproof and take it fishing!

Best: 4.56 gears with the Detroit a close second.
Worst: Detroit EZ-actually, it worked good with the 31s but only lasted 1 1/2 trips with the 35s

Well best mod this far has to e the lift... The BDS springs are awsome... The MSD ignition and Rear CV axleshaft from Tom Wood's is awsome too

Worst mods would be going w/ a non-true 35" tire and going w/ BDS shocks...

Best Mod: Colorado K5 stickers, Pioneer CD player, MTX Speakers, TPI86's pull handles.

Worst Mod: Still having the Dana 60 and 14ff, Wheels, Swampers and assorted other goodies still waiting to get put on.
