now that my top is off, i need to support the body. what is the best way to do this?? what special bars should my roll cage have to assist in this?? my floor pans are all dented in and stressed where my seats bolt to the floor, is this normal? or is it a preview of what is to come since the roof is off. thanks rob

Do what Grim and I both did and CUT EM OFF. Replace them with boxed steel that is stronger, and will take a hit without collapsing.

i have some ?'s for ya about those rocker mods-
    1. you cut them out, then did you weld new ones in? connect them to the frame? that sheet metal is pretty hard to weld to.

hold on...........i am going to orc and check out your write up....i will get back with you if i have any question...

    later.............rob

What I did is with the rocker cut off (well rusted off LOL) I took a peice of 1x2 box and slid it up the a piller next to the hinge backing plates. This takes some carefull measuments but I then drilled some holles through the kick pannels into the 1x2 a few inches appart. Pulled it out and welded blind nuts into the 1x2 where the holes were. Then I slid it back up in there and welded to my rocker box. Now my truck is pretty custom so your going to have to get creative to do this. You could do this 2 ways. First is make a L with the 1x2 into the A piller and then blind nut it through the back of the rocker under the truck. that would let you weld the stock rockers back on and nobody would know it's there or you could get real creative and dow what Glenn and I did and make the rock sliders and weld to that. This will give you a way to brace the front of the cab.

damn grim, thats pretty ingenious after i read how glenn (and you) did the rocker mod, i will do these all at once for max. strength and protection.

who is your cage coming? are you going to tie it into your windshield? will the windshields really begin to fall after a long period of time?

later bro and thanks for the tech tips rob
