hey guys, I emailed the guy about, and here's his reply...(ENJOY!)

    hello,
I may be insane, but that's yet to be proven. I appreciate your
    interest
in my axle, I just want to know where your getting your rearends at so
    I can
get me some too..I think you have mistaken my corporate 14 bolt for a
    3/4
ton full floater. Indeed the 3/4 ton FF rears are a dime a dozen but if
youll kindly check http://www.boyceequipment.com/axles.html you will
    find
that a rebuilt corporate 14 bolt from a 1 ton will cost u $1,200 with
    no
carrier. My rearend on the other hand is complete assembly and ready to
    bolt
up with factory GM gov-lock which is listed for $500+, for the carrier
alone! Add ring and pinion and you've just doubled that. Stick that in
    your
    pipe and smoke it

    Here, check this out......
    [ QUOTE ]
hey man no problem..the difference is the ring gear is 10.5 inches in
diameter on a 3/4 ton 14 bolt and the pinion shaft is an inch and a 1/4
    in
diameter, versus the 12 inch ring gear with inch and 1/2 pinion shaft
diameter on the 1 ton. Brakes are 3 inch drums on 3/4 ton, 3 1/2 on 1
ton..overall bulkier internals and stronger stopping power on 1 ton, I
    hope
    this clears things up

NO!! But I've been wrong before. I think this guy is comparing (incorrectly) SF 14 bolts vs FF 14 bolts.

Regardless, it's not this guy selling we need to worry about. It's the guy that buys his junk that we need to watch for. I personally have a ton of things to sell this guy starting with some beach front property in Arizona. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

BTW, thanks for an entertaining Friday at work. I needed a good laugh today and the messages you have sent this guy were hilarious!

I think the guy is confusing himself with the 12" ring gear Eaton rearend. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Seems like he is taking the numbers and specs from an Eaton and throwing them into the 14FF.

It also appears the 14FF in the picture shown is a true 3/4 ton version, NOT a 1 ton. The brake drums are too narrow to be a 1 ton version. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
