Is the ride height altered when you install these on the back of the vehicle? I'm actually thinking of getting them for my pick-up since I'm getting ready to make a cross-country trip in a couple of months.

No...just a better ride. Mine have been in place 3 years now and i love them. And as a bonus the give you some added flex in the rear!!!!

How much do they cost, and will they work with a shackle flip?

I've seen them for around $170 but I've heard they won't work with the flip.

The velvet ride shackles require the shackle pivot thing to be in it's original (pointing up) position.
A shackle flip, like the ORD one, flips the pivot thingy to point down - will not work with the Velvet Ride.
