Looking through the paperwork that came with my Ford ambulance-it shows a 165 amp alternator. Is this a common size or some high dollar hard to find item?

sorry but it doesnt sound like its the norm. as far as price goes I couldnt tell ya. Not to be a smart ass but this is a chevy sight, but if you want an answer keep updating this and someone might be able to help. Or go to a ford forum and ask there. Have you tried to search on google.com? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Don't know what year your rig is, but I do know that 165amp altenators are made for Ford limos. Maybe the same for an ambulance. A friend of mine got one out of a wreck for his Bronco. He said it was a Ford factory unit and not aftermarket. Let me ask him, I think he has the part #. He definitely powers a lot of [censored] with it. Winch, lights, amps...
