That C5 pic makes me think of a boa trying to swallow a rat. Sweet!! I once sat in the cockpit of a C5 when they were closing the nose...pretty trippy...made you feel like you were going up as you watched the inside of the nose coming down.

Yeah, I worked transit C-5's in Guam. First one I was on, started rocking and there was an ungodly loud racket coming from the lower deck. Looked down the ladder and it was a tank loading................freaked me out until I realized what it was!:eek1:

It's from where they peeled off the duct tape.

It's actually a CH-53E. The darker areas are where the "shrinkwrap" was when it was preserved in the boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB. It's one of the retired airframes that's getting refurbished and put back into the fleet, to make up for losses in Afghanistan and Iraq.

That pic brings back some memories... Lots of hard work to do a C-5 breakdown and build-up.

Nice C5. I worked on them at Dover AFB for almost 11 years. Too bad that one crashed a couple weeks ago. Glad everyone made it out OK.

A.M.A.R.C....just across town. Drove by it the other day where they have the B-52's sitting trying to explain it to my 8 year old daughter, "Why are all the planes painted white?" :D
