I was talking to a bud and he got me thinking about a 454. But also mentioned that he might be able to get me a 427 complete that probably needs to be rebuilt but maybe for 100.
Whats up with the 427's? Are they good big blocks, or would a good oldfresh stock 454 be better? Im not looking for no horses, Im looking for good solid motor with sufficient torque to turn some 36's on 4.10 thru a TCI 700r4.
Help, hints tips ideas, all are welcome.
Or should I keep the 350 and regear the front and rear to a bigger gear to handle the 36's?
This is a 50/50 driver wheeler, thats about to get a rear 14 FF transplant and currently I have freaking brand new 33's.

Beer!!!! Its not just for breakfast anymore!!.[IMG]

If you are saying that you can get a 427 for $100 I would get it.
Just make sure it is not a tall deck block out of a C60.
I have heard that you can make them perform but I wouldn't even bother with one.

my truck's not dirty, it's earth tone paint
