so what was the biggest tires available, stock or/and as option on second gen. pickups? I know that in 1989 the size was 235/85-16 (about 33,5") on v3500 models. Was there ever any bigger?

The reason I want to know is that today I was told I cannot put any bigger tires on my truck (if I want to drive the streets) than the size it had from the factory + 2"!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif!!! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif It means 9.50R16,5 and that is about 29 + 2 = 31"... But there is a possibility if pickups were awailable with bigger tires and I can proof it then maybe, just maybe...

Right now I am so angry...

Told what? That I cant drive the streets? The local inspectors of cars and trucks. Or the sizes on 1989 models? I have a broschure (sp?) of 1989 GM Detroit commercial vehicles.

I've seen an '83 and '84 K30's each with 33's and no lift at all. Both trucks ran 9.75" wide rims, too. No rubbing either since both were street driven daily drivers.
