    It was actually added in the 1950's (54 I believe) in response to fears of communism, since commies are athiests. Other than that they're all good points.

    Ummm, I think in God We Trust has been on our money forever. The fact remains that there are MANY references to God throughout our Nations written historical documents too, starting with "CREATED equal". Not evolved from monkeys equal, not evolved from martians equal. This country has ALWAYS been a country based upon and founded upon Judeo-Christian values. It's the damned left that wants to pretend it ain't so. Mostly because they all wanna have guilt-free gay sex and smoke dope with the rest of the godless heathens I call hippies.:D

    You are thinking about the Under God in the pledge of allegience...in god we trust has been on money for much longer than that.
