Yukon Jack e-mailed me this article from 4x4 Power so I could put it on my website for everyone. Might take a bit to download.

    Triaged,

That article looks AWESOME...! I downloaded those files (BIG) and will print them out later, but it looks like they cover everything about the 1st Gen 4x4's ......seems like required reading for everyone on this list!

Am I the last to know....what's the story with the magazine that published that article? I thought I was subscribed to every 4x4 magazine out there, but it looks like I missed a good one!! [IMG]

Thanks for putting this info up for everyone to see.

  3. That was hands down the best tech mag out but it didn't last long. Sometimes the stories were reprints from sister mags but still it was great. There was a good rollbar article it seems and an article on a 205 R&R and maybe an SM465 R&R. I was so mad when it went under - come to think about it, I don't think they ever refunded the remaining part of my subscription.

  4. Triaged - I have a number of other excellent articles that you might be interested in having. Depends on how much space you have available on the web for storage. Let me know if you want me to e-mail any of the following to you: Suspension Test - install of a 4 inch lift on a 70 or so Blazer; Skyjacker Chevy Softride System 6" install on a 2nd gen Blazer; Power steering Kits with some 67-72 info; Power Steering Uprade on a 75 Chevy Blazer; How it Works - 4x4 Steering; Reel Big Winch - Winching basics; How it Works - Differentials; Ultimate Guide to NP205's. Most if not all of these were from 4x4 Power.

When they went under they informed me that any due issues would be tacked onto the 4wheel and offroad subscription (their sister mag) that I have..I also thought that was a great mag too..no show trucks and desert racing just home built trucks and tech..

Okay I am going to show my computer ignorance, but how to I get the whole page of the article to print onto one piece of paper? I tried to print these up and I was going to have to piece four sheets of paper together for each page in the atricle.

Also, when 4x4Power was swallowed up and defunct (they didn't go under, they were intentionally put out of publication because they were in direct conflict with other 4x4 mags that the new parent company owned), my subscription was filled with FourWheeler a mag that I don't care for, much too many show trucks. I would way rather had Peterson's 4Wheel and Off Road, but I wasn't that lucky!

    Thanks again guys,

    Rod

    72BlazerRod,

I opened those files up with Adobe Photoshop. Once you have them there, you can scale the image to whatever size you want and specify how it looks on the page. My guess is your "default" viewer for those images is what's responsible for messing up the printout.

I'm not sure what software you've got on your system....but if you have Photoshop, you should have a solution. Mine printed out fine with no changes, once they were opened using that app.

    Greg,

Thanks I do have Adobe Photo shop. I'll try what you said. If I am really having troubles, I may ask again.

    Thanks,

  11. LKJR - I don't have all of them scanned, but let me know which ones you would be interested in and I will get them scanned over the next few days. Some will be scans from a copy from the mag so the quality won't be as good as the blazer article which I scanned directly from the mag.

I have plenty of space on my web server. I can post articles if you want to send them to me. Direct email at ahb@deckard.mc.duke.edu or i can give you a snail mail addy and you can mail a CD.

  15. The Blazer 4x4 Blueprinting article was in the March 2000 issue of 4x4 Power.

Max - what format would work best? I can do them in .jpg or pdf. pdf would probably be easier but I'm not sure if it would be as good of quality as .jpg.

It's the least I can do to reward someone who actually uses the "Search" function. :waytogo:
