If y’all want to camp free, my Sister, who has property on the side of a mountain, near the airport in Andrews, N.C. It's about 10 miles from downtown Murphy. There is an unused "nice" singlewide mobile home next to where we all could camp where you could shower, $hit and shave. We usually stay in it when we visit a couple times a year. About an acre of wooded or so behind it, along a babbling brook where y’all could park and camp.
Also checking with my Uncle, who owns most of the cattle and pasture land between Andrews and Murphy. There are some great places along the Valley River where we could camp, though it would be primitive camping, IE; no facilities.

Only downside I see is it's about 25 miles or so from my Sister's to the pay station at Tellico.

Oh, my Sister's husband is a former Marine...............he's a real good guy too!

This is the driveway, The "camping area" is kinda to the left, behind the trailer.

Just rememeber April 1 is season pass and price cut opening day. Might be crowded. Also it is usually still wet/cold at Tellico that time of year. Not trying to discourage, just some things to think about.

May is usually nice (not too hot, not too wet), just watch out for mother's day.

As soon as we get a date picked I'll make a sticky post for this year. Lets hash the date out in this post first, though.

I personally would like it to be a little later say August. For me June 10th is to soon after the ride at Harlan, and I dont know if am going to be able to afford two rides that close together.Just my two cents.

'bout like Louisiana. Hot and muggy............though normally it is only in the upper 80's at the elevations in Tellico ORA. Around 3000 ft. IIRC.
