$350 sounds like a good deal to me. New re-pop doors sell for $250 each at local trade shows and you still have to cut the upper window channels off and reinforce the insides.

I paid $180 Canadian (here in Vancouver) for a set of pretty good truck doors from a scrap yard. I still have to prep them take out a couple dents, cut of the frame and reienforce them. I don't think $350 is outrageous but see if you can talk him down some.

Well considering the exchange rate is
20 Aug 2001 0.6470 US dollars 0.6470 (1.5457) that would make your doors $226 us dollars

If it ain't broke, break it!

I wish it was that way...you got it backwards though. The US buck is the stronger dollar and Rod's doors in US funds would be about $117 US...

thats what I said wasn't it?

If $350 canadian was converted to the US dollar it would be less, would it not? at the exchange rate I mentioned as of today is approx .65 then the $350 canadian doors would be:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    350.00 Canadian dollars = 227.57 US dollars

    Exchange rate: 0.650200
    Rate valid as of: 8/20/2001

Oh wait your dyslexic! ;-) lol

If it ain't broke, break it!

Rod paid $180 Canadian for his doors, not $350. Re-read the post.

Then you replied to Rod's post saying his doors would be $227 US.....

    Ok, notice :

(Previous reply to my initial comment on exchange rates)
I paid $180 Canadian (here in Vancouver) for a set of pretty good truck doors from a scrap yard. I still have to prep them take out a couple dents, cut of the frame and reienforce them. I don't think $350 is outrageous but see if you can talk him down some.

    My Reply:
NOTICE last sentence, why would I discuss the 1st part of paragraph where he discusses the doors he just bought, he knows what he paid for them? But anyways, if I led you or others to believe I was talking about the doors the guy just bought and not the ones the guy is contemplating on buying, I apologize ;-)

Damn it guys, I'm confused! How much (IN US) did he pay for the freakin' doors!!!!! LMAO! You guys don't happen to be engineers do you, or maybe you been bitin' on too much duct tape. Hehehehe. Anyway, they should go for about $250-$350 for true Jimmy/ Blazer doors ($350 would be for 72's in perfect condition). around here in the pac NW.

I'm a tech and I work with Engineers every day. I travel with them too and I never ask them directions to go anywhere! I cringe when I here "what's the quickest way to get to...." I know it'll be 1/2 hour before we even decide which way to go! Then we'll be lucky not to get lost. LOL. They are fun though.
