Blazer Transmission-transfer case

    ok i have a 1986 k-5 blazer with a 350ci engine the transmission that is on there is dying so i am going to drop a 4 speed manual that i have. So my question is will the transfer case fit and do i have to mod anything so that the transfer case fits on to the new trans. let me know thanks

    To answer that ? we will need to know what trans and transfer case is in it now.

    it is a TH700 with o/d and crap id have to drive the the garage my truck is in

    It should have a 700r4/208 combo. If you want to swap to stick shift you will need everything including driveshafts to put it in a K5. Also you will have to make sure the crank in the engine has the hole in the end for a pilot bushing.

    is the rear drive shaft longer on a manual or shorter?
    also is front longer or shorter

    will the transfer case fit on a stick shift trans

    It depends on what the 4 speed was out of. The older SM 465's were 10 spline output, in 81 that changes to 32 spline output. Regardless, the T-case you have now has a 27 spline input so it will not bolt up. Try and locate a 4 speed with the T-case still attached...then get the driveshafts built to suit.

    Another thing you'll need is all the pedal assemblies and all from under the dash. You'll need to find either the clutch master or get all the manual clutch linkage depending on which bellhousing you got with the 4 speed...
