I am looking at a blazer with the vin 1GNEV18K2HF128923

Which i decoded and it seems that the engine digit specifies a 3.9L v-6??
Its a 87 Silverado 4x4 It has a 5.7L v-8 in it right now....could this really be a typo on the sell add? I doubt they made a blazer with a 3.9L myself

It's a typo. My book says engine code K = 350 V8. The engine digit is the 8th number of the vin. If you need any other # decoded, just let me know. Ryan

For 87 they dropped the 6 cylinder. You only had two options, the standard 350 or the desiel.

You need a book to decode it - Every symbol or number represents something specific to the vehicle, except for a serial number.
