Here I go with another arguement with my friends. For those of you who have owned (or own, or know what you're talking about) a Bronco, /forums/images/icons/mad.gif can you tell me if the Bronco has any advantages over a Blazer?? I just can't see the light of the Bronco. Guess I was conceived in a Chevy!!!

The Bronco has advantages if your a tire dealer cause the front tires lean in on most fords I've seen.

And coil front suspension that with longer radius arms can flex every bit as good maybe better than a K5. It also comes with cross over steering. Problem is they only made good ones through 79. the rest are fine street queens. That said I like the engine and trannys in the GM's better. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I can actually chime in on this...I wheel with two broncos almost daily. TTB sucks they will all tell you this. so post 80 forget it. Also the compatability of tranny to engine is nothing like GM. Lifts are super expensive (see above: TTB SUCKS) Also in general they weigh more than blazers (See TTB SUCKS) so...lets talk modified ones. My friend has a 6" skyjacker lift 36's, 351W and locker rear. (Oh yeah props to limited slip front and rear stock) His truck fends well in the mud. Never broke anything yet. Other comments: electrical fires (infamous ford thing), lighter weight top, but crappy mounting bolts 1/4 long fine thread = forever to remove, infamous TTB u-joints seem to go out quicker, alignment is always a problem (see TTB sucks!!), front engine distributor cap, hit water and out goes the ignition, we are better off with the rear dist. despite how aggrivating the cap can be. Overall I hear my friends cursing the FORD people than saying, what a superior product they have! I wrench to improve stuff not to constantly fix like they do.
Conclusion: buy any yr K5 and wheel it stock or modified.
ford: buy pre 79 or do a SFA swap = $

Well if your talking first generation or pre 80 than a Bronco will wheel with the best of them with similar mods as
    done to a K5.

The other ones with the junk IFS aka TTB are not worth messing with, unless you do a solid axle conversion. Butt by the time you do that you could by two nice K5's.

    89K5/14FF/D60/2-1/2#superlift/1" ORD BD/More mods coming!!

the bronco has a 6" lift (now 8")solid axle front, locked front and rear, on 35 sx's in pic (now 35 boggers) honestly it does "allright" but a lot of it has to do w/ the driver-(see not very bright)

    here is another

    302 engine
    c6 tranny
    9" rear end
    D44 front
    np205 (IIRC)

    Funny I have NEVER seen a 302 in a 78-79 Bronco. Everyone I have ever seen had a 351w or a 360.
Yeah lots of 302's in the 77 down and the 80 up.
Course my buddy only has owned about 7 Broncos in 3 years and 5 were 78-79. 3 were bought to part out. One has a 351w with a C6 and the other has a 351 with a Manual T18 I think. All of the 78-79's he had were 205 equipped.

Yeah, I got one advantage. MAF EFI or easily converted to. That way when you change heads and cams the computer doesn't do a meltdown. Also, helpful when your valve guides are shot and the vacuum is just a little erratic, MAF doesn't care that much.
