Also got my 14b painted. It was a good day everything went really good. I got my wheel bearings and races in, got the rotors on my hubs, got my pinion races in, put the ring gear on the carrier with the DETROIT installed, and pressed on my carrier bearings. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Nice! Sounds like half the battle is over with. Keep us updated when you get the axle slung underneath. Good luck.

    Brian,

There's nothing wrong with looking good WHILE working good...!!!!

I think the expression has more to do with the "useless" accessories that sometimes find their way onto trucks. You know....the silly fake bull bars....mini-taillight "brushguards", etc.

Hey Greg, I was thinking seriously about installing some of those tail light brush guards. That is, untill I ripped the tail light out of its housing. Now I dont need them. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

This in particular came with 3.73's. It came out of a 78 Suburban 2wd I believe. The other one that I have has 4.11 out of a 78 k20. 4.11 were the most common, but 3.73 and 4.56 are out there I even think there are a few rare 3.42 floating around. These are all the stock ratios I think.

Personally, I think tail light brushguards are SWEET! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

They are very handy at thwarting sheep attacks!
