Driving home from work today. Truck starts vibrating. Get home and crawld around trying to find vibration. Grab U-joint and yoke coming from t-case......GEEZUUUS THATS HOT. Joint wobbles in the caps, and the caps started wobbling in the yoke and destroyed the yoke. (&#@)(%&_)!&%YR_)U{F)DUY{MY&!!!!!!
Anything I need to know when changing t-case yoke? Any special procedures or is it just a bolt off/bolt on thing?

Hehehe....Read my sig line bro. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif It's a 203. BlazenHeart's rig is the one we were talkin about. She has the slip yoke. I don't. Just a large nut that looks like a pinion nut.

No prob. Luckily the u-joints are under waranty, so I'm on my way down to pick up the new one now. And I can get a new yoke for free too.....Did a small welding job for a guy that has a bunch of chevy parts and parts trucks. So he owes me a favor. I'll keep ya informed.

All put back together and good to go. Dan- The yoke is a simple thing. Takes a 1 5/16's socket to get the nut off. The the yoke pulls right off. Slap the new one in there, tighten the nut and your off. Took about 20-25 minutes to do the yoke and u-joint. Took shaft out of truck and did it on the tailgate. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Luckily for you you didn't have the problem i did when mine went. You prob want to have your angle checked. Mine ended up breaking all the way and my slip yoke went flying. That 1 5/16 thin socket i had to buy a complete tool set to get my boyfriend that one size. we had one but it was too thick. My angle was off and caused my ujoint to go in the first place. I finally got all that fixed and had to lengthen my driveshaft 2". Luckily for you, you got your parts free. I spent about 150.00 in parts, then another 77 to lengthen the driveshaft. I have the same tcase as you.

I would have had some pics of my spare 12 bolt carrier that I welded today, if this hadn't taken up my night. I'll take those tommorrow and post them for ya if ya want. I know you were kinda interested in thet welded spiders thing.

Hmmm...Yeah, I'm lucky I know people around here. All I had to do was a quick half hour weld job and I got this yoke free. Plus he let me use his 3/4" socket set to break loose the nut. And Sarah, you said your slip yoke went flying? 203's don't have slip yokes. Atleast mine doesn't. Are ya maybe talkin about the short part of the driveshaft seperating from the long part and thats what went flying???

On a 208 you don't have a short part of a driveshaft..It is solid.. But up at the T-case it slips in and out...That is the slip part..Goldrush is going to weld my 12 bolt for me...Dan

    Ohhhhhhhh........I knew that. lol.....And I think Kims could be the 241. I know '90 is the first year they went to electronic speedo's on the K5's. Kim's is a '90. Doesn't that make the t-case a 241?
