I saw them in NYC in the 60's as Soft White Underbelly and BOC and was actually on some bills with them. An under rated band as was Mountain, West, Bruce and Laing.

BOC is my favorite band. I grew up rockin to them. Have seen them more times than I cam count. One of the best shows I went to was their Black and Blue tour. BOC and Black Sabbath on the same stage. :thumb: It was awesome. More OZZY and Buck Dharma than the law allows.
The last time I saw BOC was a couple of years ago at one of the casinos here in town. Their getting older but they still rock. And live up to the bands motto "Always on tour" :cool1:

/me shrugs, I downloaded it as Blue Oyster Cult. I thought it sounded a slight bit unlike them so I searched and it came up as them. But the internet is full of false information...

Blue Oyster Cult's Orginal name was Soft White Underbelly. That was back in the late 60s. I guess they still use the name once in a while when playing where they dont want to use their name.
After SWU they called themselvs the Stalk-Forrest Group. After they signed with columbia they decided the name was kind of bland. And somehow someone cane up with Blue Oyster Cult. The artist who did their first album designed their popular "Kronos" symbol for its cover and it was adopted by the band.
