i have an 81 K5 and a 91 s-10 blazer. i have seen an s-10 blazer body mounted on a K5 frame by a "store" bought kit. i would like to mesh my two blazers together but i have been unsuccessful in finding out anything about the kit. any help will help. thanks

I belive you were mislead by "store" bought. Maybe "fabbed up" at an off-road store. It would have to be something lots of people want to do for there to be an "off the shelf" kit.......I don't see that happening.

Oh no!!! Another K5 bites the dust to become a pseudo-S10. Incoming!!!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

All kidding aside, you're looking at a major fabrication job to do this swap. My '91 S-10 is narrower than a Jeep Wrangler. If you can get the body on a K5 frame, the tires are going to hang so far out that you'll have to trailer it to off-road events. The cops would hassle you for having no fenders out there where the tires are. [IMG] If it's just a toy, then go for it. You'll certainly have to fab up custom body mounts and any other work required would be custom, one-off stuff.

The stock S-10 radiator isn't up to cooling a V8, but since V8 swaps are so popular, you can buy a custom radiator off the shelf. I think I've even seen it advertised in the Summit Racing catalog. That's about the only "store" bought part of the swap that I'm aware of. [IMG]

Well I definately cannot see the advantages to doing that. Seems like a lot of work to still end up with an S-10......hey different strokes...........good luck though.

Know any GOOD Wheelin' in Northwest Jersey, let me know?
