i am running out of ideas now...it just started doing this...the only thing i changed was installed a cd player, which shouldnt make any kind of difference on the engine...what do you think? its not the fuel filter, and i have the choke wired open...

nope no cats. I'm getting frustrated with dealing with this engine... as soon as you get one thing fixed, the next thing pops up...anybody got a great running 350 for about $140.75?

Could you be more specific? Is the problem at startup? Or only when you give it gas? Does it occur at idle? at Wide open? Hot? cold? Gimme a run down, sounds like something with the iginition, sounds like crappy wire/crapped out distributor.

    ok here goes...

its occured after startup when its not really warm, but it also happened tonight after it was plenty warm. It seems to come around 30 mph or less, no matter if its wide open or pugging it at slow as it will go. i'm thinking fuel pump, but being the scrounging teen that i am, i dont wanna spend money on something i dont need.

could be the fuel pump, but I dont think its your problem here. I think your probably having a spark short of some sort, one of the plugs, or several of them arent getting enough. You can have a buddy mash the gas while you look down the choke, to see if it is getting enough gas. If it still runs kinda crappy, check to make sure to see that every plug wire is in tight, and also not touching any part of the engine which could melt it (manifolds) or short it because it got partly cut or melted. Easiest way to see it is to start the engine, and then open the hood (at night) and see if you see any sparks flying around.

    Hope this helps...
