my steering shaft is shot and i need a new one. as most of you may know this is no longer available through GM so all replacements must come from salvage yards or the after market..has anybody bought one from borgeson or flaming river..i know they are about 200 clams, but are they worth it?...what are you guys doing when yours wears out? haynes says they are rebuildable but i havent heard of that before..

    AIRBORNE!!

I have not had any problems with mine wearing out. I have three shafts, from a 73, 76, and 79. They are all in fine shape except for the 76 which is a little worn and I will replace it with the 79's.
What I'm trying to say if that a jyard one should be fine, just look for one from a non-lifted (and non-abused) one.
