Boss walk up to me and says don't piss off Charlie, a new laborer that is working for us.

    Why?

    He's out on parole?

    What's different about that?

He just did 17 years fpr killing 3 people in a drug case.

He seems alright but I'm giving him alot of leeway.

The thing about it is, which seemed strange at the time, is that we got word from the owner of the company (a fortune 500 company no less), that we are going to find work for this guy and keep him around.

Somethings amiss here. Must be somekind of government work program requirement of some sorts. Probably a contract requirement.

Very large tax breaks if you employ an exconvict for more than 6 months. We've got one.......He's a great guy!

Merle Haggard did, and as far as I'm concerned, he f'in RULES!

I have met many ex-convicts who have turned their lives around. Some are great guys.

Yes, there are some......Never said he didn't make a huge mistake. But he did his time and busts his ass everyday (and thats more than I can say for most people I've worked with) to take care of his family.

I am going off on the understanding that he did do his 17 years and only judging him on his current actions alone. I did not know him before so this is the only way I know how to treat him.

I've had ex-cons for bosses and employees. Bottom line, if noone gives em a second chance, how are they supposed to become a productive member of society.

Varmint Cong ... license to kill varmints. We don't need even need a reason ... here, mister gopher, it's your friends mister rabbit and mister squirrel...

Slight tangent there. But Carl Spackler RULES!
