And I had some good steak. I haven't had some steak off a charcoal grill in years.

    Tasty.

I ended up buying a propane grill about a month ago. In order to even get part of the taste that the old charcoal grill had, I have to put wood chips wrapped in foil in with the food.

I grill a lot so this way is cheaper and more convenient.

soak those wood chips in whiskey or rum the day before in the fridge... then fill an aluminum foil bowl half water half rum or whiskey and drop them in...

Or dinner at mine. It works well, and gas is way more convenient.

Gotta re-stock the liquor cabinet. This is the first time in 5 years I dont have a bottle of Jack sitting around. Moving is soooo fun.

I've got both out back. I don't use the charcoal unless I've got a pile of meat to cook up, otherwise it's kind of waste to go through the hassle. The propane's much better for just throwing something together for dinner.

I've had the same propane one for about 10 years. Third set of bunners just finally burned past the point of no return and the the 2nd regulator is fubared also. I can't decide if I should spend the $50 bucks on parts or just go get a new one.

I bought a Broil Mate. I ended up paying $200 for it after reading great reviews on about.com. One side seems to burn hotter than the other, but I just adjust the knobs to get it even. It feels much sturdier than the others in the same price range.

Charcoal is better for steaks and I will probably buy another small Weber just for that purpose, but I probably cooked on my gas grill 20 of the last 30 days, so it is cheaper and WAYYY more convenient.
