Well, I took her home yesterday. It's an 81 Chevy 3/4 ton with a strong runnin' 350, a turbo 350 tranny, and a 205 x-fer case. She sits on 35x14x16.5 Ground Hawgs on white wagon wheels. Picked it up for 1500, I'm gonna take the digital camera from work and take pictures of it on my lunch break.

** I tried to get the pictures to post in the thread, but I couldn't. They are in my members gallery under Members Rides. pics are right on the first page. **

There ya' go! Thanks... a little bit of work and it'll be a damn fine trail rig. I was playing with it after I took those pictures in a field behind my house and managed to knock one of the mufflers down :sigh: the constant work starts /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Does anybody know of a way to determine what type of input a transfercase has, short of pulling it and looking?

Looks good! Are you sure its a Th350 tranny? 3/4 tons from that year came factory with a TH400, If you should look at the trans oil pan , if it looks like texas its a TH400 a th350 has a squarish pan.

it is a turbo 350 for sure. I had the valve body apart this weekend and boosted main pressure a little bit, I think that was the problem with it... I also added another detent tensioner thingy so I could feel the gears, I hate it when a shifter lever is mushy. Get this though... I put everything back together to test it, and I messed up the pan gasket and it was leaking like a SOB... so I gotta get a new gasket today and pull the pan and put it in...
