Spent $4K, got a 94 3/4 ton, 70K miles, 454:D Needs a new AC compressor, the wipers dont work, new tranny cooler lines, and the 4WD wont engage. Probably about $700.00 in parts and I'll be good to go. John HAPPY.:D

Sweet deal. Sounds like you got a good rig for a good price. The gas bills won't be pretty but it should pull pretty well for you for most stuff.

I'm keeping it! Apparently, it's a part of the "South of the Border" special edition line.

Or, more realistically, I'm taking the air dam, the running boards and the 17 cell phone antennas off, as well as the bug shield and the back seat. I'm also looking for some stock GM aluminum wheels from a late model rig to swap on, that would look sweet. If anybody who works at a dealership knowshow to get ahold of a set....

Thanks for noticing James. My laptop at home took a crap, motherboard is fried and will hopefully have something new post Christmas so I've been limited to computer access at work, sucks. I'll post up some pics of what I've been up to when I get a minute.
John, I'll do some checking on those wheels, I assume I'm the guy who works at a dealership.........:D

Good deal, John. I envy your 454. :tongue1:

There is a set of 4 wheels at the tire shop I use here in Greeley. I was daydreaming about putting them on our 'burb. They're the newer Chevy 8'lug style. Really pretty heavy duty for aluminum wheels. They want $100 for each of them, though. Which is why I didn't get them.

    Nice looking wheels, though.

I hope you don't need a 32 spline 241 like I do. Good luck finding one for less than $300. I think I'll just rebuild ours for that price.

Brigham and I are pretty sure the 4wd issue is the actuator thingy. If not, well, maybe we can rebuild together.:D

Hell, doing warranty work for GM feels like I'm working for free half the time:(
I checked with our tranny guy here at work for 'ya Scott but he doesn't have any t/cases laying around, everything but that. Sounds like a 32 spline 241 isn't very common..... I think Johns problem is with the front axle actuator but if it's the t/case then it's time to learn I guess. Believe it or not most of drivetrain stuff I've rebuil;t in my life always seems to be on my own stuff, go figure. I wish I would've known all you guys were going to be looking for those factory aluminum wheels about 3-4 months ago, had a line on a set of 4 cheap, I will keep my eyes and ears open for sure:waytogo:

    Hey John,

    How bought these?

    http://cosprings.craigslist.org/pts/248956662.html

    :D

Actually, I might join your's and MrK5's little clique. There is a 90 Burb down here that needs a little bit of work for $400. I'm trying to decide if I want that, or buy this other guys 510 collection (3 dimes, one of them is a SCCA racer :thumb: :pimp: ).

If it's a 3/4ton you could part it out and get more than that back in parts! I got dibs on the 32-spline tcase and a rear seatbelt!! :deal: :D

I'll keep that in mind, if I decide to get it and part it out.:D
