I've had my braces for around ayear now.
I have broken 2 brackets off now. The first one I think was from my fault, eating peanuts or something hard. The second one (happened last night) broke off right from the tooth. The bracket was attached to all the glue still-so I think it was dentist error or the glue deteriated (sp?) from pop.

Anyway to prevent this from happening in the future? I guess just avoid hard stuff and pop.
Would brushing have anything to do with it? Too hard or not enough???

Sorry if the Q's are dumb...

    TIA

I had a couple of em pop off back when I had braces (seems so long ago, well, now that I think of it, 4th-6th grade WAS along time ago), anyway, dentist told me it happens from time to time.

Also, I had one of the wires that connects em all snap one time. Now that was interesting, shot all the rubber bands off the brackets.

Anything like break is hard to get out.
And beef or "stringy" meat SUCKS to get out since it wraps right around the brackets.

Stay away from anything that puts stress on the brackets. Chewy candy, et. Sometimes the Denteest doesn't do a good job of cleaning the tooth surface, sometimes you get bracket interference, sometimes they just get knocked loose. I've had 4 come off in 6 months. Wednesday I'm back in for more torture, oh yay.

Use profy brushes for in-between cleaning. A sonic toothbrush works wonders.

Oh The joys of adult braces.
