Yes this may be a stupid question, but while I was under the Jimmy checking for loose bolts and I got to looking at my transmission. I found a very small plastic tube on top of the tail shaft portion of the transmission. Is this a breather tube? Should it have a tube connected to it? Just curious, seems to me that if you got in very deep water, it would suck it in.

yea, that is the breather tube, on th every top just aft of the bell housing...I was kinda cocerned about the same thing...I am converting to a manual, so that won't be an issue in the future, but I have thought about connecting some oxygen tubing or something to it and running it up and zip-tying it to my firewall or something...

IT IS JUST A PLASTIC INSERT (INSIDE/OUT). BE CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK OFF THE TUBE WHEN YOU ADD THE VAC. LINE OK.
