Broke my radiator drain plug now can\'t get it out

It was in there crooked, since I couldn't get it out with my hand I had to use a crescent wrench. Didn't hold up to that very long now it's about half way in there and I can't grip it with anything. Does anybody know how I can get it out?

Probably have to use an easy out. If that doesn't work then you may have to take it to a radiator shop to have the fitting cut off and a new one brazed on.

I have some easy outs, but they are my dad's and I have never used one. What is the proper way to use one?

You just drill a hole in the thing with the right size bit, then put the easy out in the drill and try to back the broken piece out of there.

Do you have, or have you used vice grips to try and get it out. I had to do that on a demo car once.

You could always take off the lower radiator hose to drain the rad, and then put it back on...doesn't fix the problem, but gets the job done.

if it's not leaking I would leave it in there. you can do as mentioned and remove the radiator hose to drain it, or I usually put a piece of 5/16 hose down in the tank and siphon it out. with the drain right by the steering box it always seems to make a mess draining it.
